SSL RANKINGS: 470 WORLDS PODIUM SAILORS RISE

The latest SSL Rankings are out and there are some big movers on the leaderboards.

The 470 World Championship was the major event last week and, as we predicted in Monday’s article, Germany’s Luise Wanser has moved into the Top Ten of the SSL Women’s Skipper Rankings, leaping a massive 37 places to displace Denmark’s Anna Livbjerg from tenth spot. France’s Camille LeCointre has also benefited from her podium position at the event, moving from seventh to fifth overall.

In the Men’s Skipper rankings, the runner-up finish in the 470 Worlds for Spain’s Jordi Xammar Hernandez has moved him up four places to fifth overall.

In the Men’s Crew rankings New Zealand’s Blair Tuke has taken the top spot from USA’s Victor Diaz de Leon, but there is no change in the top ten of the Women’s Crew rankings.

The SSL Rankings are updated every Tuesday and include 113,000 sailors (67,000 skippers and 47,000 crew), highlighting the world’s top inshore sailors across a huge range of classes. The SSL Global Ranking does not replace the rankings specific to each class but completes them, to offer a simple and attractive overview of inshore sailing to the general public.
